Mamafacts
Vivian Rose.
A simply complicated anecdote about life, love and the pursuit of peace of mind.
A twenty-something mother to –
Ethan: 4.5 years old, homeschooled, gifted, talkative, emotional, and challenging…
and
Verity: infant, unexpected, homebirthed, breastfed, demanding, and gorgeous…
wife to –
Chris: my recovering husband, involved father, best friend, number one fan and supporter.
Some other tidbits:
I think everything is better used, but I draw the line at food and underwear.
I work in my home-based business until the wee hours of the night. In this roll, I’ve been called a Virtual Assistant, Publishing Operations Assistant, Blog Editor, Web Technologies Assistant, Web Content Manager, Project Coordinator, Freelance Writer, so on.
Background: Of Cajun decent, I was born on a commune in Mississippi and later moved with my father and one older brother to Florida when I was 2 years old.
Jump ahead 20 years: In the Summer of 07, I traded the mosquitoes, lizards, and hurricanes of Florida for the cafes, local farms, seasons, and holistic hippie oasis of my soul home, Portland, OR. There we went through incredible transformations as a family and learned so much about ourselves and the world around us. We love and miss our Portland “family” dearly, as we have recently journeyed to the Ozarks…
As of March 2010, we now live in an old craftsman home in a historic neighborhood of Fayetteville, AR. I love our place and anticipate the bawking of chickens and picking of veggies this summer…
I have an insatiable appetite for life, (hence the name “Vivian” I like to think.) To name a few things that thrill me:
I like to kick back to: LOST, The Office, reruns of Gilmore Girls, a large variety of movies (recently into Bollywood).
I listen to: from classical music to 70’s folk to modern indie… my tastes run the gamut and I’m open to anything EXCLUDING: cry-in-my-beer country, cheesy christian pop/rock, and gangsta rap
I have a particular place in my heart for The Boss…
I like to drink: COFFEE, kombucha, kefir, wine, raw milk, and herbal/medicinal teas.
I like to eat: peanut butter, raw tuna, raw honey, salmon, anything with coconut milk. I eat chemical/toxin free as much as possible, and I believe the body has amazing self-healing capabilities, if given the proper nourishment.
I like to read: Anything I am interested in. I strive to be a lifelong learner.
I like to do: knitting, yoga, cycling, blogging, walks, digging in dirt, painting, dancing, singing, and of course… eating!
I like to talk about: Nothing is off limits. Let’s get to know each other – life is short!
I like to think about: The past, present and future. Life’s big questions. And on rare, sweet occasions: nothing at all.
In a nutshell: I value simple living, balance, love and faith. I try to reduce my dependence on things that promise to add convenience to my life yet cause more stress in the long run. I love my family and friends, and I’m striving to step outside my own life more often to be involved with the struggles and triumphs of those around me.
Trying to take the rest one day at time. I have a LOT to learn.
