Good luck on the 5k training Vivian! I had no idea that you knew M.S. My husband and I attend Summit. I remember talking to you about Summit Church and you said that Orlando married you two! I guess I never thought you would know the S's! They are such a wonderful family! We will miss M.S. but we are rejoicing that she is with her savior Jesus and has no more pain!

Exciting!! My mom had breast cancer in her late 30's. Her sister and aunt were also survivors. It surely touches many lives. Best of luck with your running!

We are going to start running Friday evening, and we'll be doing it every Tues, Fri, and Sun from then on. Having it on the ipod is a great idea! I don't have one so we are just going to have to use a stop watch or something. I don't know how that will work yet but we'll see! lol
I think my back and knees are going to give me a hard time with this, since I've been pregnant or in a nursing position for the last year, my bones feel like they've gotten a little brittle, lol. But I gotta do it... I learned the hard way last time I had a baby that if you don't work it off in the first few months, it can take 3 years, LOL. There's a fine line between the pregnancy fat lingering and then it gets comfortable and turns into just plain ol' fat!
(pssst... I'm secretly just VERY excited that I'll get 30 minutes to do something for myself, 3 times a week! I love my kids but 30 minutes sounds heavenly right now!!!)

I think your hubby is right!

If I hadn't been in such a hurry earlier today, I would have elaborated to say that I decided I wanted to do the couch to 5k program two or three months ago, but I knew that I needed a podcast version because trying to follow the chart would be too hard for me and I wouldn't do it.

Problem was, I sold my ipod last year when I needed some cash. So I shopped around and bought a used ipod shuffle on ebay for this specific purpose. So it's here, the program is on it, and I haven't taken the first step yet. Apparently, you are the motivation I need!

I also should have said that I "ran" Race for the Cure five years ago--I had to walk for about a half mile in the middle because of side stitches, which are always a problem for me. And I was very, very slow, only slightly ahead of the walkers!

So anyway, what day are you going to start?

That's awesome and yet another thing we have in common! I downloaded the couch to 5k podcasts for my ipod just last week, hoping to start this week. I ran Race for the Cure about five years ago and haven't done much running since.
