One of my favorite dudes…
I’ve recently begun talking more with a sister-in-law I had not really known until now, and of course the religion topic comes up and I’m really enjoying our discussion (Hi, Kelly!)- but it reminded me of how much I really liked a book I read last year and I don’t think I ever quite shared it with my blog readers, though it was a very important book to me after all was said and done. I even wonder if I’d have been attracted to Portland if I hadn’t read it. (And NO, its NOT Blue Like Jazz!)
So I just wanted to share this link and let it take you where it does. The writer is who the title of this post refers to.

I just found your blog through Crazy Hip Blogging Mamas. I LOVE blue like Jazz and am counting the days until LOST starts up again. I did an entire sermon based on “Lost” at my church and it was super fun! I have been looking around your blog and I like what you have to say. I am just now converting to sustainable living thanks to listening to Rob Bell’s podcast (http://www.marshill.org/teaching/index.php) and reading his book “Sex God.” He has an entire series of Sunday messages called “God is Green.” They really are really great.
Thanks Gina! Your family at your site and blog are so cute! Thanks for the link to the Serve God Save the Planet stuff too, I have added it to my greenage links.
Hmm. This book looks intriguing! And a new one coming out too. I’d like to read it, I’m thinkin’. Thanks for the recommendation! (Sleep deprived person – did I spell that wrong? It looks weird and I’m too tired to look it up!)
Diane- I have not read his new books, but the one that I am referring to is his book called A Generous Orthodoxy. Blue Like Jazz is of course a good one too (different guy, happens to be a guy who is an “elder” at the church we now attend).
And I think recommendation is right. LOL- I do that all the time, thank GAWD my firefox browser has a spell check plug in for everything I type!!!
