Personally, I’d prefer locally owned/operated shops. That way I’d have the opportunity for variety. With a chance to contribute to a neighbor’s pockets…instead of moving my cash up a corporate ladder.
This isn’t much different from what McDonald’s did for restaurants. I probably would have also decried the loss of “mom and pop” diners had I’d been around back then.
The number one complaint among Starbucks customers? The store isn’t close enough.
